? on scoring

Postby Mavrck_667th » Wed Oct 03, 2007 7:08 am

I was at 1015 points and after my match with Diecaster I won ROE 1 and 2 and he won ROE3. Why is my points now 1011? Shouldn't I have been advanced points? The scoring is a bit confusing.

Hey Mavrck,

Here is a thread that discusses the scoring. The scoring system during the RACE is called "ELO Rating" it is explained in that thread, and there is a spreadsheet you can look at to help you get your mind around it.

The essence of the system is that when 2 players have equal rating, it's a 50-50 chance of either winning, so there are modest rewards.
As the difference in rating increases, the reward for winning for the stronger player (with the higher rating) diminishes, while the reward for winning for the weaker player increases. You will see this in the spreadsheet.

Cheers,
Nap
